Dress That Mama

Sometimes a trend gets me, but it always has to make sense for my body type and I have to imagine myself wearing it for years to come. This time, it’s high-waisted jeans, and the reasons are mostly practical — with my other jeans, I find myself constantly tugging them up and wriggling around trying not to let my bum crack show when I bend or squat down with the kids or in the garden. Not with these!

I think it can be tricky to find the right fit with high-waisted jeans, so to keep it updated and to avoid the “mom jeans” look, I chose a dark rinse and kept them slim all the way through. I also like this style (which has gotten rave reviews) and have great luck with this brand. Find a similar pair here!

  1. Ugh, high-waisted pants do don’t look good on my body. I wish they did, but really, my waist is where the hiding of some things really happens a lot 😉 You however, look lovely. I’m also really inspired by your braid crowns.

  2. Cute outfit! I have the same complaint about low-rise jeans. Not very practical for playing at the park or on the living room floor. I really like AG Edie skinny jeans with a mid-rise.

  3. I love this outfit!! It’s one of my favorite color combos! And You look amazing in it!! Do you mind me asking where your super soft tee is from? It looks worn and cozy 🙂

  4. The tee is from Anthropologie (7 years ago, no joke)– that is why it is so soft and faded. The brand is 3 Dots.

And the shoes are Rachel Comey.
