This weekend we decided to have a little friends’ sleepover at our house… and it was a wonderful success! It seemed like a good idea for so many reasons; usually when we want to hang out with friends, we have to hire a sitter, assign a designated driver, and come home at a reasonable hour. If we include our kids, we have to leave to get them in bed, and the adults don’t get to really talk and let loose with kids within earshot! So… we invited our friends and their kids over, had dinner and let the kids play until bedtime. After we put them down for bed, we had the most hilarious night which, believe it or not, involved an entire bottle of good tequila, a taxidermy dove, and an hours-long game of Cards Against Humanity in front of the fireplace. I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe at one point! It was the craziest night we’ve had in quite some time. Whew!
Needless to say, we stayed up way too late, got up way too early, and were dragging and lazy all day Sunday, but it was worth it. Friends and plans like these are making this harsh winter more manageable. It has been so brutally cold this year!
Milo lost his very first tooth on Saturday night (he unexpectedly pulled it out all by himself in front of the bathroom mirror- so brave)! The tooth fairy left him a very sparkly dollar bill and a little treasure, which he carried around all day yesterday. I think he looks so cute and boyish with that little gap in his teeth and I just couldn’t help hugging and kissing him all day long!
Thank you, wonderful friends, for a fantastic weekend!
So smart and fun! Our place really isn’t big enough to have friends and extra kids overnight, but we’ve got some camping trips planned this summer that hopefully will work like this (assuming the kids sleep!).
And what a grown boy with that missing tooth 🙂
That is such a great, fun idea! Glad you’re finding ways to survive this brutal winter. And Milo is such a big boy! We’ve been wondering what the going rate for the tooth fairy is, so thanks. 🙂 Avery is also obsessed with “Somebody That I Used to Know.”
Gappy tooth smiles are the best. Hopefully, as you guys enter this phase of childhood, your tooth fairy will remember to show up better than our tooth fairy did. She was a bit of a flake.
Looks like the perfect fun-full weekend!
Looks like an awesomeness weekend!!! Where do you get your great tablecloths from?
He looks so cute! Congratulations Milo! Jack just lost his first tooth too – and he lost the SAME one 😉
