A visit to my mom’s house was in order this past Thanksgiving weekend. We aren’t planning to travel at all near Christmas time, and going too long without seeing my mom just makes me crazy! Unfortunately my sister and her family were elsewhere, but my brother, sister-in-law, and their two boys came for a low key relaxing country visit. DSC_0229

My mom made a huge feast for lunch… I’m not going to lie, we ate darn well on this trip! And of course, we trekked out to the meadow and woods around my mom’s house to explore a bit. Milo and his cousin Jack raced ahead with my brother while my mom, Kelly, and I tried to keep up with the little ones. It wasn’t easy! Those guys are getting faster!DSC_0213

A highlight for the boys was awesome Uncle Jon bringing a real bow and arrow to shoot at some zombie dummies he made. How cool is that?!

I honestly can’t believe how quick the trip is, but sometimes it just happens that way. When we were heading home on Saturday evening with all three boys sound asleep in the back, Andrew and I were exhausted but happy, and ready to kick off the Christmas season. In fact, I have the first of three gift guides for you all ready for tomorrow. Can you believe it’s December?!DSC_0281

Thank you, Mom. We love you and miss you already!

  1. yes. this. the outdoors and kids running wild and free exploring. i’m so glad your family has such access to that. i need to make more excuses to get miss mo outside to jump and wollop about.

happy thanksgiving. looking forward to your christmas season posts!

  2. Looks like you guys had a wonderful kid filled trip. It works out well that your families are close to eachother, even if they’re far from you.

    Now onto Christmas !
