We spent the past the past Thanksgiving holiday and weekend in Ohio with our families… what a way to kick off the holiday season! Andrew’s oldest brother Bill and his wife Annie hosted all five million of us and our kids, and though the house was anything but peaceful, it sure was full of laughter and fun. The cousins (nine of them in total, all pretty close in age) seem to get along even better with each passing year, pairing off immediately, then interchanging the pairs and having just such a blast. Emil and Gabe, the youngest of the group, were truly holding their own, and the big kids included them and watched out for them. It made hanging out with the adults a lot easier!
The feast itself was huge, and people came and left in waves, eating and drinking and laughing and chatting… it was crazy and wonderful and just the way this holiday is meant to be.
I feel like the luckiest lady in the world to have married into this family. They are just the bees knees! Thank you Billy & Annie, for a wonderful time! We hope we didn’t leave you in complete disrepair!
I’ll be posting more pictures – from my mama’s house- later today, so be sure to check back this afternoon! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
We were all sad to see everyone leave, we miss everyone already. However, the house is clean and tree is up and decorated. Working on some leftover turkey recipes today…Thanks for capturing the fun and the crazy. I can tell you one thing I don’t miss, that magnificent mustache!
These are some of the most beautiful kids I’ve ever seen.
What fun! Wild and merry:)
Look so fun!
You may have posted about this before, but what camera and lens do you use? I have a Nikon D60 (or some number similar) with an f/1.8 lens, but my low-light pictures never come out NEARLY as gorgeous as yours.
Liz, I have a Nikon DX, D5000. And to be fair, it takes a lot of blurry pictures before I get what I want in low light!
… and here is a post I did on photography tips: http://www.crumbbums.com/?p=3148
Thanks, Lauren! I think I need to play with the manual settings more. I either do the A setting so I can adjust the aperture for low light, or I do the S setting so I can adjust the shutter speed if there is a lot of movement. But I think I should just learn to go straight up manual so I can control it all myself!
Is it Billy with the mustache? Either way, the brother in the Cincinnati sweatshirt seems to be saying to the little girl “Now if coach woulda put me in for that last drive, my High School Football Team woulda gone to State.”
Oh, Jon. You nailed it. Yes, that sounds about right, ha ha!
