The Cabin, The End (Part III)

It’s crazy to look back at these pictures and realize that we were somewhere this peaceful only a week ago! Not that where we live isn’t peaceful, but it is a neighborhood with neighborhood and city sounds… but I do feel like we brought some of the peace back with us. It’s all a state of mind, really.

Thanks for bearing with me on the days and days worth of pictures. When it comes down to it, this blog is like a family journal for us. I spend hours looking over the past 6 years of blogging, and the posts I feel most moved by are the ones that tell our stories. I do depend on the recipes too (which I found out for the past several days when our internet was down and I was unable to access them!) and generally just feel embarrassed by the outfit posts (ha!) but I like that you like them, and my readers are so hugely important to me. So… though I do not have a Dress That Mama post today, you can be sure to see one next week- a special Thanksgiving outfit possibility that I hope inspires! Also, I have a great holiday appetizer recipe for you. DSC_0302

That said, here are the rest of the vacation pictures. We ended the week with warm weather- warm enough for Milo to go wading and shirtless! But the day after that picture was taken, the temperature plummeted and some very tired and cold little boys were ready to go home. We had such a wonderful time and hope to go back again sometime. DSC_0292

Plus, when we returned home, all of the leaves from our trees were suddenly on the ground! Lots of raking this week- good exercise at least! Hope this finds you well. Have a wonderful fall day!DSC_0313

  1. Loved all these cabin posts, Lauren; reading them was definitely the next best thing for those of us who couldn’t get away ourselves. No wonder you had such a wonderful trip! I can’t get over that picture of the water… Hope it’s just what y’all needed to keep you going through the holidays. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I’ve loved all of the cabin posts too! I’m always excited to see such beautiful peaceful locations, not to mention little folks enjoying them. Your post on friendships and couples and families was also lovely.

  3. This vacation looks too perfect! The place, the friends… such peaceful fun. I still can’t imagine that you had any rifts in friendships. Although I’ve never met you in person, you are so open and lovely and cool on your blog… who could take issue!?

Anyhow, you seem to have a great group of friends and I’m glad you guys all got away to slow down for a bit together. The best !

  4. Thank you, Lilly! And no, I don’t usually have rifts in friendships. This one came quite out of the blue, actually, and I’m still reeling trying to understand it. There was no fighting, no actual discussion of what went wrong. I just have to let go and move on, and try my best to learn from it! But thank you, and I feel the same about you. Hope you and your lovely little ones are well!
