November is here! We spent the weekend celebrating, in a way. On Saturday we rested for the most part. Oliver stayed in his pajamas until the late afternoon while I took Milo to a (canceled) circus class at the City Museum. We stayed for an hour anyway- Milo and his friend ran around and got awfully sweaty while the adult friends chatted and quickly lost track of time.
There was plenty of time for cooking and cleaning and just hanging out. Oliver helped spread a nice layer of compost all around the garden, which is still going strong. We woke up with frost on the grass on Sunday morning, yet our strawberries seemed not to have gotten the memo. We are not complaining, as Oliver claims that the strawberries we pick from our garden are so much sweeter than the ones we buy from the store (of course, he’s right)!
On Sunday, we were so spoiled by our friends Maggie and Alex! They had the best party at their place, complete with amazing yummy food (oh you guys, the food!), a bonfire in their back yard, hot cider, glow sticks for the kids, and lots of laughter. We met a boatload of very nice people and just had such a great time!
Oliver ate two plates full of food, which is really amazing these days. And I was in awe of this classy place- Maggie knows how to decorate a house to put the rest of us to shame, trust me. Such a beautiful, warm space. And Alex, well, he is the life of the party, both with the adults and the children!
Thank you, Maggie and Alex, for a fantastic time!
What a beautiful kitchen!
Whoa, when Lauren Knight compliments one’s cooking you’ve done something right. Someone remarked it was a kid rave. So thrilled you enjoyed it!
You guys have the best, most kid friendly, group of friends. This looks like such a fun party! Glad you had some time for a relaxing family weekend.
I love that kitchen!
