This past weekend, we finally got around to cutting down the huge sunflower plant Milo had planted last spring. We harvested all the sunflower seeds from several dried flowers, rubbing our fingers across the smooth surfaces until all the seeds were freed. I would have roasted and salted them, but after assessing the amount of work it would take to separate the seeds from all the flower debris, we decided on pinecone bird feeders.
Making things from something you’ve grown or found is incredibly satisfying! Have a wonderful Thursday.
Neat and sweet!
such a great idea. it will be fun for you and your boys to watch those birds devour that treat!
Awesome! We have plans for sunflowers next year and I will keep this in mind, thanks! 🙂
