Upon picking Oliver up from one of his first days back to preschool earlier this month, I noticed him carrying a large popsicle stick with three long, awkwardly cut pieces of construction paper taped together lengthwise, then taped to the stick. When I asked him what he had made, he told me how much he loved the ribbon on a stick at preschool, so he had taken it upon himself to make one. Apparently no one had helped him. He was so proud, but when it came time to use it, it certainly didn’t move the way he had expected it to. He was disappointed, because clearly he had worked so hard on this project.
So… we went down into the depths of our scary/dirty/disorganized basement and found a ribbon and a paint stir stick. After tying the ribbon onto the indented side of the stir stick, Oliver took off.
Don’t you love the crazed look in his eye paired with the fact that he appears to be wearing a lampshade on his head?
So cute!! You should show him some rhythmic gymnastics with the ribbon on youtube so he can be inspired!!
Pure joy! Adorable!
Regarding your ‘outfit’ posts, I would miss them. I liked seeing your style, and it gave me ideas. But, I can understand how doing it so often would be tiring. Maybe only do them when you are particularly inspired by your outfit?
Hope you are doing better each day!
Love O’s face, and his ribbon dancing/jumping.
p.s. we forgot to thank you for the local honey earlier! thank you!!!
Oh my goodness! His joy is contagious. What special boys you have!
