This weekend was just what we needed! Dinner with friends on a rainy Friday evening, breakfast on Saturday at our favorite breakfast place a few blocks away, the swimming pool with friends on Saturday evening and the zoo on Sunday… and all of it together, the five of us. We spent every waking moment together, and I felt more together than I have all summer. I really miss that Andrew when he’s gone!
We also had a couple of before-school functions for Milo’s kindergarten class. He already knows a few of the neighborhood kids who will be starting with him in a couple of weeks, but meeting more of his classmates made it so real… he is starting kindergarten! Where did the time go???
The produce from Winslow’s Farm… we hope to go back one day!
But he is definitely ready. In addition to learning to ride his bike this summer, he also really picked up on reading this past week. Now he can’t get his hands on enough easy readers. He curls up on the couch with a whole basket of them and reads quietly out loud to himself. It’s pretty amazing to see it all click into place! And this one? He has done a whole lot of growing this summer. His legs are longer and leaner, and he seems suddenly taller and more coordinated. He has counted 18 new “tricks” that he has mastered this summer, including climbing to the very top of the spider web structure at the playground, and swimming around on his belly without the lifejacket on. This summer has been full of changes for these guys!
I look forward to my mama’s arrival on Thursday…
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Wow, your weekend looks full of love and memories!
