Last Sunday evening, a girlfriend invited me to see South Pacific at MUNY. I can’t remember the last time I saw a musical, and I had never seen this one (though I was surprised to find that I actually somehow knew all the words to Some Enchanted Evening). I was also kind of ashamed that after 3 years of living in St. Louis, I had never been to the MUNY, which is America’s Largest and Oldest Outdoor music theatre. Andrew had just returned earlier that morning from a 3-day trip to Atlanta, so I jumped at the chance to get out of the house without the little darlings.
And you know what? I had one of the best nights with my friend. Rain poured down on us twice, and by the end we were dripping, our hair plastered to our faces and makeup running from our eyelashes, and it is the first time we could both claim to be cold in July in St. Louis! But as we ran back to our car through sheets of rain, laughing and squealing and dodging the crowds who had brought umbrellas, we were happy as can be.
It was a fantastic show and a fantastic night, and I didn’t mind one bit when I realized that my dress needed a good scrubbing and took two turns through the washing machine before coming clean the next day. Those cowboy boots are still drying out!
Hi!
I just found your beuatiful blog and started reading it. I have a comment on your bean den but I don´t know if you still read comments on older posts so I´m writing it here 😉
There are different “types” of beans, those that are climbing and those who grow more like small bushes. If you want I can sent you some seeds (hoping that it will pass through customs) of a type with lilac flowers and seed pouches (is that the right word? and don´t worry, when cooked they´re green) that is the climbing type. We have a bean den with these and red-blooming ones. Just drop me a mail if you´re interested, because I really like seed-sharing….
Please excuse my lousy English, I´m writing a lot in German at the moment and my head is full of this language.

Love this look especially the dress, Lauren!!
Hotness in the rain. I’m so happy you had one of those giddy, forget-all-else fun friend nights! Every mama deserves one of those.
That sounds like a fun night out! You, your family, your garden….so beautiful.
