T-Rex Tree
On Monday, Mary and Ben came out from Baltimore to hang out for a few hours and enjoy the weather. It has been such a mild summer, cool in the mornings and not humid at all (especially for DC in the summer). To take advantage, we took a walk up to the stables in Rock Creek Park, about a 10-minute walk from our house that can take much longer with two toddlers.
They had a blast exploring the woods on the way there, but Milo mainly just ran ahead as far as I would allow… which has become a common thing with him lately. I think he knows I am too fat to catch up with him. But he’d better watch out- in just a couple of months I plan to be back into action and I know I can still run faster than he can… at least for a few more years, I hope.
Of course, the horses were happy to see the boys…
But the boys weren’t too sure about the horses at first. They warmed up quickly with our encouragement and some boosts up to the horses’ level. Those horses looked huge to me, so I can’t even imagine seeing them through Ben and Milo’s eyes!
In the stables, Milo’s amazement grew. He became his old Mr. Chatterbox self, saying “Oooooh! Look at that horsie!” and “Whoa! A big one!” and asking to peer into each enclosure. And yes, I made Mary do all the work while I took pictures. I’m such a good friend.
Enjoying a cold one before heading back for lunch
Next time maybe one of them will even sit on a horse! Yeah, we live on the edge.
Oh puh-lease! Making me do all the work! I’m always feeling like a slacker around you! You’re always feeding us, entertaining us, offering little gifts here and there! You’re like wonder woman! Thanks again for another fun day!
