Dress That Mama: Tomboy Style

Back outside this week, despite flurries of snow that covered the ground an hour after we took these photos (winter, it’s been fun, but I think it’s time we see other people). Today: tomboy style. Dress like a dude (with tighter pants, in this case), add lipstick, done. And though lately I have been yearning for warm breezy weather that makes dress and skirt-wearing so freeing, what could be easier than throwing on jeans and a button-down?

  1. Love this look. I’m in need of a new chambray shirt as the one I had (and donated to Good Will) was way too boxy and not worth trying to tailor.

I’m hoping that when we return to Boston from our vacation in still-very-wintery-Canada that there is warmth in the air and buds on the trees. Fingers crossed, right?! XO.

  2. I pretty much wore this outfit today (minus those awesome shoes), but didn’t look nearly as cute! Maybe because my clothes were covered in gross dried up yogurt and I didn’t bother changing (it was a stay at home day). =) Very cute!

  3. Love the tomboy look! I’m going to recommend that you check out http://www.wearandrogyny.com if you like men’s shirts, but can’t ever find ones that fit right. I have one and the fabric and detailing are awesome, plus they walk the line between a sloppy man’s shirt and a too slim-fitting woman’s shirt. Totally perfect with skinny jeans or leggings.
