Update

The surgery went well. Thank you for all your kind words– I am in more pain than I had anticipated, so won’t be posting for a day or two. But Andrew has been amazing. From helping me up the stairs and making me comfortable, taking time out of an already busy time of year for him to play with and read to and take care of his boys on the solo, comforting a baby who wants his mama to pick him up and a little boy who has been crying all afternoon about one thing or another… it has not been easy. Thank you doesn’t cut it.

Thank you, also to Elisa and Jen, for taking the boys today. Hoping we’ll be up and running in a couple of days. I will tell you all about it (if you want to know)!

  1. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Surgery is no fun — especially when you’ve got kids at home. I’m glad you have a lot of help so you can take care of yourself and heal.

  2. Glad that everything went okay (although pain is never fun) and that you have such a great little support system. Rest up and hopefully you’ll be all healed up and feeling yourself in no time.

  3. So relieved the surgery was successful. Now you just have to remember not to push it with trying to do too much, too soon. Listen to your body and rest! I’ll bet you’re also SO glad to be home and not in the hospital. Feel better soon.
    Love you, Mom

  4. I’m so, so glad everything went smoothly. Take a day or two and just keep on your pain meds. Your body will heal much faster and you’ll be back in the saddle before you know it.

  5. Glad to hear it went well though yikes, the pain. I’m sorry — Wish I were closer and could help out. Am there in spirit, wishing you a speedy recovery. xo

  6. So glad to hear it went well and you are resting up with a wonderful husband to take care of things while you heal. Here’s to a speedy recovery!

  7. I’ve been MIA on your blog for a couple months & Tune in today to read your news…
Hope this finds you listening to your body’s inner voice & allowing yourself time to heal.
    Take care my friend

  8. So happy to hear that the surgery went well! Being sick with little ones is intense enough I can’t imagine surgery. (Thank goodness for loving partners!) Wishing you lots of rest and relaxation during your healing process!
