After Thanksgiving…

After the cool calm and collected edition of Thanksgiving this year, Andrew’s mom, stepdad, and little brother and sister came to visit us in order to ramp us up again! It was a fun-filled weekend that got me in the holiday spirit fast! The weather was cold enough on Saturday night to have a fire, and after a warm meal and apple pie for dessert, we gathered in the living room for stories and lots of laughter and music.

When I asked Milo about this picture, he claimed that someone had knocked over his tower and it WAS NOT funny. P.s.- Isn’t Andrew’s mom gorgeous?!

Apple pie that looked a mess but was really delicious… and I even made the crust from scratch, which I never do. I’ve definitely converted. It was way better than store-bought, and not much extra work.

We had three very tired little boys last night who ended up passing out at 6:15pm… a sure sign that “too much fun” was had by all. Thanks for visiting, Gina, Michael, Katie, and Austin! We miss you already!

  1. I’m always happy when I see that Captain America costume, it’s just awesome! Looks like you all got the best of both family time and a little relaxation. A perfect holiday 🙂

  2. Your Thanksgiving seemed perfectly cozy, relaxed and full of yummy looking food – especially that apple pie!! Yum! We had nice weather where we are too and what a difference that makes in the day. Lots of fun playing outside with cousins.

p.s. We used to call our Augie Punkin’ Pie all the time when he was a baby. Liam was Lemon Cake. 😉

  3. I love that music was a part of your celebration. It was a big part of ours, too. My uncle is a guitar virtuoso and my aunt took up the fiddle at age 50. Isobel provided noise and bum-shaking dance moves.

  4. belated Happy Thanksgiving to you guys!! What a fun way to spend the weekend. I have to catch up on the Thanksgiving festivities – you are sooo good with posting regularly!! I’m trying to get back into being predictable with my posts.. “trying” being the key word 😉 p.s. another thing that I’ve heard is great for migraines is apples, specifically green ones. I definitely notice stress & dehydration are my 2 main headache triggers too – at least we’re self-aware! haha

  5. What a nice time! That pie really does look great. Homemade crusts are far superior, and you’re totally right – not that much extra work.

I agree with you – Andrew’s mom is really pretty! Wade’s mom is stunning too, and every time she visits, I find myself trying to copy her style. Ha!

We also had live music as part of our festivities. Usually it’s both kids rocking out, but Audrey was a tired grump this year and kept yelling, “I don’t want you to sing, Juju!” So Wade had to bumrush the stage and yell, “SECURITY!” and grab Audrey and run away with her so she didn’t spoil all the fun.
