Free skirt! Free skirt!
A couple of weeks ago, I entered Cup of Jo’s giveaway (which I do a lot of, it turns out). But out of over 2,000 entries, I won! The giveaway was for the above skirt, from a pretty rad clothing company located in San Francisco called Curator.
I was hesitant to do an outfit post on here because I feel so completely awkward having my picture taken and I always come away thinking is this how other people see me? and that is a strange feeling. But I had to just this once because MAN OH MAN this skirt is really the bees knees. You can’t tell from the picture, but the material is super soft and feels like a jersey knit, but the pleats give it a dressy feel, which is my absolute dream come true! I wear skirts and dresses nearly every day, and let me tell you this one is going into the weekly rotation. (And no, this post is not sponsored by Curator, I just really really like this skirt- which is called the Mari Skirt, if you are interested!)
Thank you, Cup of Jo for the opportunity, and thank you, Curator, for the free skirt! My day is officially made.
Don’t be so shy about being on the other side of the camera: You look even more beautiful in that skirt than the model on your link.
Enjoy it.
Idea for a post: How do you wear a skirt while running around with (sticky, dirty) kids in the park?
Miss you,xx
You look so great Lauren! I love when you post your outfits!!! And, that skirt is totally awesome! I am also wondering though, how do you chase, climb and wrangle three boys at the playground in a dress or skirt? I have given up and gone to shorts and cute tanks in the summer, my kid is relentless!
Thanks, ladies!
And to answer your question, I am still able to wrangle in a skirt/dress, but I don’t really climb. No need, though. I can spot from the ground!
Also, I read somewhere once that you shouldn’t save all your favorite outfits for special occasions- you should wear what you love every day and not be afraid to get dirty! I like this advice and am sticking to it. I try not to buy “dry clean only” stuff, and do a lot of laundry!
I freely admit to following a WWLW (what would Lauren wear?) mantra when considering how to dress in the AM, more in philosophy than strictly copying. My high point was when my cousin said I was “so etsy” at a baby shower. I also admit to hitting a low point for the first time this year by taking my daughter to school while still in my jammies. I’m a work in progress.
Winning a giveaway is super lucky! I never win anything. I think it was meant to be because that skirt is made for you. You look beautiful and shouldn’t be shy in front of the camera. I wear dresses a lot too (it’s either that or jeans ’cause I just don’t like the way I look in shorts)… leggings underneath make wrangling a little easier – though they wouldn’t work with this elegant outfit!
You are gorgeous Lauren, and that skirt is amazing! I love it! And it looks perfect on you… I think I may be a bit to short for that length, but that won’t keep me from trying 🙂
How fantastic! Love the skirt. I never win giveaways! So glad you did.
Kacie
So pretty! Curator lucked out having you as (unofficial) spokesmodel!
Yay! Good for you!
I have a skirt just like this and love it. You look great!
Looking SO lovely lady! You should do outfit posts every once in a while…share your fab style with all of us! Congrats on the skirt- it’s perfect for you!

We all need to email them about your blog post today! Something new us slways a day brightener! Anyone who cares for, educates & entertains their children as much as you deserves a free skirt. & I totally agree with the philosophy of not saving nice things for good Enjoy your life & the clothes that adorn it!
You look beautiful! I love the skirt, especially the color. This has me thinking I should start commenting on giveaways. I normally don’t because I think my odds of winning are so low but they certainly would be better than my odds if I don’t enter at all! Also- love your bangs, and your top, and your necklace, and your shoes. 🙂
Hooray for giveaways and hooray for cute skirts! I love it when people I “know” win things because it somehow reaffirms my belief that I’m going to win a giveaway someday as well.
One more thing: pleats totally rock the casbah. Totally.
Love this outfit and you look gorg!!!
Super pretty, both you and the skirt!
I am not very good at dressing myself and should probably just start copying people like you. I tend to go with jeans and some kind of shirt that I’ve picked up at a thrift store. I like skirts, but feel so self conscious in them.
Lauren – you look hot! That skirt was made for you! I totally agree… life is too short to wear ugly clothes!
Congratulations! It’s so fund to win things! I never bother entering giveaways over at Cup of Jo because there are so many entrants, but maybe I should reconsider.
yay!!! I can’t believe you won! Or I can believe it – this skirt was made for you! It looks sooo pretty.
