Okay, still behind, but I’ll get there eventually.
Milo and I had a fantastic day last Thursday when we trekked to Mary’s father-in-law and girlfriend’s house about an hour northwest of Baltimore. We were treated to a lovely pool, delicious lunch, huge open house for the boys to explore, and the best part, the company.
Who knew there was a petting zoo just down the street?
(Please ignore my sweaty, ratty hair… it was really hot, okay?!)
On this walk, we discovered that the neighbors down the street had a virtual zoo in their back yard, complete with ducks, guinea pigs, llamas, emus, and zebras. Apparently you can raise zebras in your backyard. Makes me wonder what else is out there… an elephant? Giraffe? Legal or not, the owners were very kind and encouraged us to get a closer look for the boys. Milo really liked the ducks, especially the black-and-white spotted one.
So of course, another very enjoyable time. I am so lucky to have such a good friend who also has a little boy so close to Milo’s age. It’s been so much fun watching the two of them outgrow true babyhood together. Now that they are both on the move, it’s even more fun to watch them go, go, go! And Ben’s new skill of walking leaves Milo no choice but to go along for the ride…
In true bum style, easy-does-it!
My favorite is Ben’s grunting from the effort of pushing Milo… no fat jokes, please, Milo has slowed down rapidly on the weight gain, thank you very much.
