The other day, Oliver geared up to help me shovel mulch by changing into his Captain America costume. Then he grabbed a cheese stick.
But a funny thing happened. While we were in the middle of shoveling the mulch into large plastic containers before transporting it back home, Oliver sighed and stopped shoveling. I stopped to ask him what was wrong. He looked up at me with concern on his face and said, “I can’t do this anymore. I’m just a little boy. Only mamas shovel mulch.” I delved a little further, and it turns out, Oliver believes that mulching is women’s work (!). I almost didn’t correct him, but secretly smiled inside as I explained that he is strong like Mama and boys can shovel just as well as girls!!!
I mean, those are some serious muscles, no?
More things mamas and superheroes do:
Go to the grocery store, of course!
But only mamas eat vegetables. We’re working on that one.
Apparently only Mama’s eat vegetables in our house too….that means Mama’s have to be sneaky! I love the costume! Jackson loves to sport his muscly Spider Man on occasion as well. π
Umm… These are the most hilariously cute pictures ever! Those muscles- I love him pushing the wheel barrel (we have the same one but W is nowhere near as ripped!). Everyone at the market must have loved you guys π
Haha, I’m in love with this post. Sooooo cute!! So fun to see the world through 2 year old eyes π And so fun that you’re able to capture it in your blog so you’ll never forget!
This is one of my all time favorite posts…The pics are hilarious (his precious face) and I love what he said. How cute!!
How awesome is that!? Haha, mamas don’t mulch at our house. I just did yard work for 10 minutes, started having super allergy problems, and remembered why I am bad at hanging out in the yard. π
Love his costume! It always makes me happy to see a little Batman or dinosaur at the grocery store randomly.
I laughed out loud-!
What a personality…shining through @ 2 !
hahaha! he is too cute!
This is about the most hilarious thing I’ve seen all week. And so easy to relate to! I’m just glad my son is fast asleep and not peeking over my shoulder to see this post, or he’d be hounding ME to buy him a Captain America costume of his very own. LOL.

I love this post so much…that’s hysterical that only mamas mulch! And I doubly love the super hero grocery shopper! Your boys are clearly just as funny as you are!
Oh Oliver, you are too sweet. This is one of my favorite posts yet!
