My friend Janelle sent me the link to Lauren Groff’s short story The Midnight Zone, which I immediately listened to first thing in the morning while my boys played in the other room. A wonderful, beautiful story. If you have half an hour, listen. It’s captivating and touching (and terrifying, in that mother way). And have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much for sharing this! Made the hair on the back of my neck stand up alright. I think this just might have been the first time I have read all of something in The New Yorker.
I know, wasn’t it creepy?! I must admit, I need to read more New Yorker pieces.
