Milo’s 4th Birthday

DSC_0020

4!!!!

As we reached the end of what Andrew calls our “Feast Month” (birthdays exactly every 7 days for a month straight: 8/14, 8/21, 8/28, and 9/4), we were definitely getting sick and tired of cake. Well, Andrew and I were.

But at Milo’s request, we made a purple cake. I thought, maybe a squid cake? But, alas, this squid looked more like a strange purple sea monster than anything. Oh, well. It was purple. It was moderately tasty. It was cake.

And perhaps most importantly, it is gone. No. More. Cake.

Milo’s other request: a “big boy bike.”

Oliver says, “Whoa! Big bike! Cool!”

And so, of course, we had to try it out IMMEDIATELY (with strange young man lurking in the background dressed in borrowed (from Milo) Captain America helmet).

And yes, I am aware that my husband is smokin’ hot. Nice arms, man. Seriously. Want to have some more babies? Um. That last part was a joke, people. Don’t you think 3 boys is enough?!!!

Yeah. This bike-riding stuff is hard work.

  1. It looks as if Milo’s birthday was a SUPER fun day! Happy Birthday, Milo! The bike is really awesome! I have a feeling Milo will be riding it in no time. That purple cake was a work of art, too! Love to all.

  2. How cute!!! My favorite part and I keep giggling is Oliver wearing the helmet in the background of each picture! I love it!

  3. Happy Birthday sweet sweet Milo!!!!! Can’t believe you are FOUR!
And yes, Andrew is smokin, but what about YOU woman??? How do you ALWAYS manage to look like your old self just seconds after giving birth?!

  4. You need shorter grass and a slight downward slope and to hold the back of his jacket and run him at about 4 or 5 mph, tell him to tell you when he is ready to go solo and he will get in on his first or second go, if everything is explained clearly with no outside interruptions, then his confidence will be high, I’ve done it five times now with no failures. You can feel through your hand when he has his balance sorted, then ask if he is ready, he will say yeah fairly quickly, he has probably already done it, so well done and great photos, especially him lying with the babee.
