Teamwork

These days, it seems that every task is completed with two extra sets of hands. Hands that like to scrub, soap, push, pull, and tinker. Hands that hang on the hose of the vacuum cleaner and splash the water out of the toilet through over-zealous scrub-brush plunges. The plants are very watered. The dishes are… put away, so to speak.

And so, it came as no surprise to me that on Mother’s Day, a delightful afternoon that begged to be spent out-of-doors, two extra sets of hands helped wash the motorcycle with Pop. Two extra sets of hands also proceeded to scrub the curb and street with much gusto, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

They really are quite a team. And I can’t wait to see what happens when we add another one to the mix. More hands, more help, right? Let’s just say that this peaceful picture was taken just moments before one certain special helper proceeded to place his hose directly into the exhaust pipes and jet quite a bit of water up into the engine, thereby almost ruining a perfectly good motorcycle. Almost. Phew. End of photo session. End of “help.”

Happy Mother’s Day, a little late, to all of you momma’s who have lots of extra help.

  1. Adorable. What amazing little helpers. Glad to hear their “help” didn’t ruin the motorcycle! That sounds like a very close one… Hope you’re feeling good these days, Lauren 🙂

  2. This is just too cute. And, we ALL know what serious work this is – look at their faces! I’m also relieved that the bike survived… “Whew” is right!
