Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel
I love this book. It fits all of my requirements: great post-apocolypse read with flashbacks, great character development, just enough science fiction, warnings of how we treat each other and our world around us, and questions of art and humanity. Hard to put down.
The Grownup, by Gillian Flynn
This one is perfect for a quick, satisfying short novel — it’s easy to read in one sitting at 62 pages, creepy and a little mysterious, left me wanting more. I read it in its entirety while slowly eating lunch by myself at a little restaurant (an act I highly encourage if you’ve never done it before). Borrow from a friend, if you can!
Read Station Eleven with my book club – churned through that one, too. Now reading behind the beautiful forevers. Has started out well!
I loved Station Eleven, it’s such a good combination of fast paced action and deep thoughts.
