This weekend we put up our Christmas tree, went to a holiday party, took our Christmas card photos (I can’t wait to share it with you later this month!), and did all the other regular weekend things like cleaning and baking, doing laundry, getting groceries, etc. It was a success, and I feel pretty on top of things going into this week. Which is good, because there’s a whole lot of Christmas present shopping to do now!
We had our first fire of the season… which was cut short by the realization that the damper in our chimney is broken. After a chilly morning with all the windows open, we finally got all the smoke out of the house. Yeesh.
And if putting the star on the top of the tree turns into an acrobatic feat, you know you’re a circus family.
Emil and Milo had a really sweet discussion about what they would like to get each other for Christmas while they were lying under the tree. Heartbreakingly sweet! And Emil has proven to be our most enthusiastic family member about all things Christmas. He walked downstairs early Saturday morning and immediately started decorating the tree while humming to himself and stating, “Oh! It looks so Christmasy!”
So easy to get into the spirit of the season with these guys around! Have a wonderful day!
Wow! So many thoughts about this lovely portrait of your family you’ve painted:
that tree is perfect, Milo has lost so many teeth, Oliver should have long hair forever and Andrew’s stocking still gives me the giggles! Merriest of Christmases to you —
Lovely photos. What camera/lenses have you been using as of recently?
Thank you, Maragaret! I used a Nikon DX, D5000 with a 35mm lens for all of these photos.
Your decorations are so lovely! That package wrapped up in pine is perfect.
