So happy with these Imogene & Willie high waisted jeans I recently ordered! Online shopping can be tricky, but it’s pretty much the only way I shop for clothes anymore (unless I snag something vintage or local, but I don’t generally go into stores for clothing anymore). Knowing a brand and how it fits helps, but of course you need to test and try in order to find that out! Aside from being a bit long on me (I’m 5’5), these fit perfectly.
On the other hand, I’ve had my online shopping fails, like the black high-waisted jeans I got a couple of years ago from a brand I had never heard of (BLK Denim — avoid at all costs, turns out this brand is expensive but not well made) that ended up ripping and getting baggy and weird in all the wrong places. So, the Imogene & Willie black high-waisted version is now on my Christmas wish list. I will keep it real, folks.
And speaking about cream knits, be sure to check out the giveaway I’m hosting above to win a beautiful vintage ivory knit cape, along with vintage wood, bone, and brass bangles, AND the prettiest leather clutch I’ve seen this season (also vintage)!
And let me know if you win!!!
I resisted getting Imogene + Willie jeans for so long because of the price but I went through every possible denim brand and couldn’t find a jean I liked. They either sagged after one wear or gave me muffin top, etc. I finally decided to return two pairs of less expensive jeans so I can try to the Imogenes and I could not believe how amazing they fit and the best part: no matter how much I wear them, they never sag or stretch out! I haven’t looked back since and now I have three pair, two I found in excellent used condition on eBay for half price. You actually inspired me years ago when I discovered your blog to focus on fewer items of better quality than to have a bunch of something thats cheap, since then I’ve traded in all my fast fashion and pared down to basics from USA made stuff, I like getting dressed so much more nowadays. 🙂
Katie, I’m so glad to hear this! I agree — it’s hard to pay more at the onset, but you really do get what you pay for. I’d much rather spend a lot on one great pair of jeans that are going to last me years and years (and that fit me well and won’t stretch out) than the same amount on 3 or 4 pairs over the same period of time that I don’t love.
