Today we celebrated Earth Day by being true to the meaning of the word earth. As in, a certain two of us covered ourselves in earth from head to tippy toe. “Earth” Day.
I found it fitting that Milo’s shirt actually has the word “clean” on it.
Really, this clearly was not planned. I had become distracted by yard work, namely picking up fallen sticks and doing some much-needed miscellaneous weeding in the back gardens. When, you know, this happened. Right under my nose…
In about 3 minutes. I had already taken off Oliver’s pants and shoes because he had made a beeline straight to the nearest body of water in our backyard, a standing pool of rainwater from last night’s crazy storms, and was drenched from the waist down (I actually dumped water out of each of his little leather booties- ugh) within seconds. So I should have known what the next stage would be…
And I guess I did, but just didn’t care all that much.
I mean, it is Earth Day, after all.

And Earth Day isn’t just about dirt to us. No, Andrew and I actually chose to get married on this day, four years ago. Oh, what a wonderful, dirty day! Happy Earth Day to you! And Happy Anniversary to my loviest lovey-dovey!
*And now I must go because some wicked storms are a-brewin’ on our special day. Seriously, can there be any more sirens going off? This place is tornado-central. Yikes.
Okay, when are you and Andrew going to install an outdoor shower? So cute!
belated HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! such a beautiful time of year to get married 🙂 I love the way they celebrated their parents’ union… haha You are one fun mom!
