Dress That Mama

DSC_0133

These, my friends, are the only pants I can wear right now. They are the only pants that are soft enough, high-waisted enough, and loose enough around my waist. Everything else seems to hit right across my incision. Wearing pants low enough to sit below it has proven impossibly uncomfortable and painful. So right now, it’s this… or loose dresses. Not that I mind, frankly.

DSC_0110The necklace is from Andrew for my birthday last month (Erin Considine)- a jewelry designer from Brooklyn whose necklaces I just can’t get enough of. I never considered myself a “jewelry” person, but I think it’s just because I never saw jewelry that was like art to me until this.

Also, the top is Black Crane– a simple, boxy linen cut with slits up the sides. It is and will be the perfect thing for this spring and summer- cool, breezy, and interesting. I already have a million ways to wear it (in my head). I am really enjoying adding some new pieces to my spring and summer wardrobe- one careful, thoughtful thing at a time, being sure I have a lot of ways to wear them. Soon I will share them with you… I can’t wait!

  1. I am also a huge fan of jewelry that makes a creative statement, maybe that’s one of the reasons why I gravitate towards vintage pieces. The leggings are super cute on you and the fact that they are comfortable enough not to cause pain on the incision is a great bonus. I remember not being able to wear anything around my low waist after my c-section, not fun at all. Sending you healing thoughts…

  2. Super cute. I hear you on the limited pants. I’m rotating between two pairs that are stretchy enough to fit over my giant wrapped feet. If only it were warm enough for dresses or shorts – I’d have many more options! Although trying to imagine myself in a dress with these lovely feet right now is pretty hilarious.

  3. Post-surgery hottie time! I’m glad you’re feeling better. So excited for more spring styles from you. Hugs and sweet weather!
