Dress That Mama: Pumpkin Patch

DSC_0129

As it is Halloween tomorrow (yay!), I thought I would share what I wore to the pumpkin patch with Andrew and the boys. It was a beautiful not-too-cool, sunny day, so I could get away with a short sleeved (but heavy-weight) short sleeved shirt under a long sweater. Buffalo plaid has quickly become one of my favorite prints. I think the larger checks look less “country” and more modern.

Here is another way I’ve been wearing this shirt: with black flats instead of boots and a warm Pendleton scarf in a similar color way with geometric patterns. But it would also look great with blue jeans and a motorcycle jacket.

  1. This looks great, perfect autumn outfit, easy and cool.
Just so I can fantasize about purchasing things I can’t afford right now, would you mind sharing where the shirt came from?

  2. I agree-that shirt is amazing! It has my third time pregnant self dreaming of a time of cute, well-fitting clothing πŸ™‚

  3. Rachel and Alma, yes, the shirt is Ace & Jig. I have found that it is being sold a few different places- even Madewell has it on their site! It is pricey, but double layered and thick enough to wear all fall and winter, plus short-sleeved so perfect for spring as well. An investment, for sure, but Ace & Jig is kind of amazing, I think!

  4. OMG adorable! Love the color combo and that shirt. It’s waaaay cuter than the buffalo check I got. πŸ™‚ I was searching and searching for the perfect flannel on all of the fancy sites, but I ended up just getting a one from Land’s End. I liked the simplicity of the black and white and knew the quality would be good (and it is indeed divinely soft): http://www.landsend.com/products/womens-long-sleeve-pattern-flannel-shirt/id_229866?sku_0=::F2I

  5. sometime lurker, first time commenter… i realize i’m a little late to the party, but i just have to ask – where did you get those awesome black jeans? i love the asymmetrical seam above the knee!

  6. super cool!
indeed, they are sold out, but i’ll keep an eye out for the brand.
thank you so much for the response!
