For those of you who didn’t talk to Andrew yesterday, let me pass on the great news that his dissertation defense went smoothly and he is now officially finished with grad school! Now you can call the man above “Dr. Andy” if you’d like, as he adds some new letters to place behind his name. Ah, the letters. Congratulations, Andrew! We are so proud of you.
And on the same day, Milo decided to stun us with his counting skills, as if to show Andrew up. Milo casually counted to 10 perfectly, over and over again, and today he got up to 14. Pretty cool when your kid starts to learn stuff.
Potty training is still going well, though I am reaching out for advice on one aspect. Milo is completely, 100% potty trained at home when he is wearing nothing but a t-shirt or is naked. He never, NEVER has accidents when he is like this, even when engrossed in play. I can’t even remember the last time he pooped in a diaper. Now the question: how do I get him to tell me he has to go when we are outside of the house or when he is clothed? Even if he is wearing big boy undies, he pees in them about half the time, or he tells me while he is peeing in them. Constant reminders while we are out work about half the time and the other half he just pees. Is there some magic I can do to make him more aware, or does this just come with time?
Yesterday I had my 27-week check-up and Glucose Challenge Test. All went well, and baby is already head-down (let’s hope he stays that way). He has also become so incredibly active it scares me sometimes! It’s like there is a badger in there testing for weak spots. It is very cool to think that we will be meeting NewBaby in only 3 months. It seems like time has flown, but when I think about how I have been pregnant since just before Christmas, that seems like a long time ago. Funny how that is. We still have no agreed-upon name for this baby, although I have my heart set on one. I mean, I LOVE this name, but Andrew is so-so about it. Is begging unbecoming in pregnancy, or do you think it would work to my advantage since I have this big belly and can’t move as quickly as I once could? Or there is the argument that Andrew chose the name “Milo,” so shouldn’t I get to choose this one? Alright, that argument only works when it’s in my favor, so I guess that’s a bad argument. So…. any reasonable, non-joking suggestions of boy names that would go well with Milo and the last name “Knight?”
I’m all ears.
And belly.
Congrats Dr. Andy!!!!
how about Kobi
Would the real Dr. Knight please stand up. Way to go Andrew. That is quite the accomplishment and don’t let your brother tell you differntly.
Lauren…did you teach Milo how to pull his pants off and on. The stuff I read/heard on when kids are ready for potty training is when they can manage their pants. Maybe that will solve the problem.
How about Nighty? Then, everyone could call him ‘Nighty Knight’! Congratulations, Andrew, another milestone at such a young age! We are so proud of you.
Love, Mom (Joan)
Congratulations Andrew! That is so wonderful. And little Milo can count to 14?! He sounds like he’s well on his way to a doctorate himself 🙂
Congratulations to Andrew and Milo for their achievements! Reina has yet to poo poo in the potty or get her PhD. Let’s see some belly shots, don’t care your camera is broken…you could find SOMEone to take your picture, certainly!
Also, we can’t help you on boy names. We didn’t decide on Casey until 2 hours after he was born and we were only luke warm about it. At least it has grown on us just as our little man has. I have some great girl names!
Otis?
